Commissioned by Walter Blackie, the carpet was designed for the entrance hall at The Hill House in Helensburgh.

This item was lost in the fire in The Mackintosh Building at The Glasgow School of Art on 23rd May 2014, only a small damaged fragment remains.

In 1986 a reproduction of the original Hill House carpet was sponsored by Arthur Anderson and Company and woven by BMK of Kilmarnock for use within the GSA's Mackintosh Room. The reproduction carpet was accurately colour-matched with the original, but woven to a slightly larger scale. A small colour swatch used as the basis for the full-scale reproduction is held by the School's Archives and Collections.

Abstract forms are painted onto a pink ink painted surface. A fibrous semi-transparent material is stitched onto the surface of the paper outlining the forms in purple thread. Some pieces of the tracing paper and material have been deducted in the shape of the figures to reveal the painted background. Similar in material, style and medium to DC 089/1/2/4/45

Ten figures in various reclining poses, painted on textiles and mounted on board. In this pull of the print the figure outlines have been printed in a pale shade which almost matches the backing textile. There is no fill for the figures, only some patches of colour, possibly hand painted, in a red-ochre shade.

White linen and embroidery possibly made by Daisy McGlashan. The design and technique show the influence of Jessie Newbery's teaching. Closely woven cotton fabric with printed warp threads and jagged design of subtle gradations in colour from orange through to red, blue, green to orange again. Second section with contrasting weft colours and regular pale yellow wefts giving a striped effect in shades of orange, pink, green and blue. Thicker cream coloured yarn has been introduced to form a line and zig zag geometric design over the coloured weave. This item was damaged in the fire in GSA's Mackintosh Building on 23rd May 2014.
