The photograph album contains photographs of "The Immortals", including Jessie Keppie, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Herbert MacNair, Frances Macdonald, Margaret Macdonald and others of their circle.

The Moyr Smith sketches are from Moyr Smith's first published book Studies in Pictures. Smith trained in Glasgow, becoming influenced by Alexander Thomson and Daniel Cottier, moving to London in 1864.

Of great importance in this collection is a sketchbook of drawings by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The sketchbook, dating from the 1890s, consists of 19 drawings of flowers, furniture sketches, and interior sketches of Craigie Hall, Pollokshields, Glasgow.

There are 4 known surviving volumes: The Magazine 1893, The Magazine April 1894, The Magazine November 1894, The Magazine 1896.

The Magazine was a publication of original writings and designs by students from the Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow, Scotland, and their friends. Appearing in 4 volumes between November 1893 and Spring 1896, The Magazine contains text from contributors handwritten by Lucy Raeburn, editor, accompanied by original illustrations. These volumes are the only known copies of The Magazine. In addition to rare, early watercolours and designs by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the volumes contain early designs by Frances MacDonald and Margaret MacDonald, at a stage in their development which has been labelled 'Spook School', and two sets of photographs by James Craig Annan, when he was beginning to establish a reputation at home and abroad. Among other contributors were Janet Aitken, Katherine Cameron, Agnes Raeburn and Jessie Keppie, all of whom enjoyed lengthy careers in art and design.

The Magazine is similar to an album amicorum such as those which originated in the middle of the 16th century among German university students, who collected autographs of their friends and notable persons, sometimes adding coats of arms and illustrations. The Magazine resembled the album amicorum in that contributions were by a close group of students and their friends and is all the more interesting because the illustrations were produced by young people who had a common social background, were trained at the same school, and subjected to the same artistic influences. The contributors were closely linked, some by family, some by romantic attachments and had close social connections. A variety of loose artworks, cover designs, correspondence, ephemera, photographs, diaries and sketchbooks completed by and belonging to Archibald Haswell Miller and Josephine Haswell Miller (nee Cameron). The collections includes proofs for book covers and pamphlets, personal correspondence relating to his studies and subsequent career, different ephemera relating to Haswell Miller's student days and photographs of artworks and students and staff members of The Glasgow School of Art.

This collection also includes material relating to Georges-Marie Baltus (DC 098/2) , including photographs of his artworks and his Italian and European trips, and Francis H. Newbery (DC 098/3).

Documents and objects related to Alfredo Avella's teaching career at GSA and work as an artist. Includes sketches and finished artworks, correspondence, photographs, two- and three-dimensional designs, printed ephemera, etc.

A collection of graphic design work, product design prototypes, life drawings and graded coursework by Lindsay Wadey (née Winning), completed during her time as a student at The Glasgow School of Art from 1963 to 1967. Includes work carried out as part of courses in the Graphics department and on the Section 5 course under Ted Odling. Material spans the entirety of her student career, including final projects and degree show work.

The George and Cordelia Oliver Archive consists of:

The Anderson family archive includes material of 5 of its members, namely the sisters Violet Meikle (1873-?), Daisy Agnes McGlashan (1879-1968), Daisy's husband William Smith Anderson (1877-1929) and their two daughters Daisy M Anderson (1910-1996) and Agnes Violet Neish (nee Anderson) (c1912-2005).

The Anderson Family archive contains family papers, sketchbooks, photographs and letters from 1860 to 1969.

The archive contains a number of sketchbooks kept by family members. Those belonging to the women contain flower drawings and schemes for ornamentation whilst William Anderson's books reflect his life as a commercial traveller for an ironfounder's firm and contain scenes from London and elsewhere, as well as technical drawings and plans. As many of the members of Daisy Anderson's family attended the Glasgow School of Art, the collection throws light on the work of the School from the 1880s-1950s.

Additionally the collection includes correspondence, newscuttings and photographs. Please note that this material is not yet fully catalogued and therefore some items may not be accessible to researchers.

Some of this material was damaged in the fire in GSA's Mackintosh Building on 23rd May 2014, and has since undergone conservation.

The collection consists of job files, photographs, and architectural drawings and plans related to Easthall Solar Demonstration Project.

Folder containing 41 black and white photographs of various sizes taken by George Oliver. Some are annotated. Includes: washing lines at Templeton's Carpet Factory, interior of the City Chambers, interior of the Mackintosh Library showing book trolley in a Mackintosh style, Glasgow Cathedral and high rise flats.

Includes photographs collected by Alexander McGibbon, Charles Edward Whitelaw, and Eugene Bourdon. Also includes collection of cloud studies, copies of George Henry works, and miscellaneous photographs.

These folders contain drawings produced by Harry Anthony Wheeler when he travelled to Italy after being awarded the John Keppie Scholarship in 1948. The John Keppie Scholarship gave a bursary of £100 to one architecture student per year to fund a study trip of their choice. The focus of Wheeler's project was Loggias in Florence, Rome and Venice. Wheeler has commented that the Arcading is Modern Gothic and features textured brickwork. Plate 46: Five small mounted photographs. The photographs feature the sotto portico (meaning under the porch) of the Scuola Giorgo degli Schiavoni with one photograph featuring Wheeler's comments on the alternating column shapes, a Loggia near Ponte Lungo, a colonnade near San Francesca della Vigna and the Cloisters of the Monestry adjoining San Maria Maggiore in Venice. Plate 47: Four small mounted photographs. The photographs feature; A portico with a balcony Loggia above with Wheeler's comments that it is Venetian Gothic, a potico with an arcade above with Wheeler's comments that it is Venetian Byzantine, a Loggia of Modern Building with Wheeler's comments that it is Gothic style and some modelled timber brackets above columns.

The collection consists of 305 photographs taken between 1853 and 1896. Sitters included local dignitaries, friends and family including John Brown, Queen Victoria's Ghillie. The collection also includes landscapes and the streets of Glasgow, particularly around the Pollokshields area on the south side of the city. Other subjects include ships, ship yards and stately houses.

Hugh Ferguson graduated from Glasgow School of Art/Architecture in 1955. His collection of papers includes a notebook of 'Descriptive Geometry' from The Royal Technical College containing notes and detailed mathematical drawings.

Ferguson received the Alexander Thompson Travelling Scholarship in 1964 and another notebook/sketchbook documents his travels over one month in Greece - from 15th of August to 5th September 1964. Two weeks were spent resident in Athens and two weeks travelling; he visited many sites including Delphi, Eleusis, Daphni, Ossios Loukas, Brauron, Mycanae, Tiryns, Pylos, Epidauros, Olympia and Corinth. Detailed notes are given on the work going on at these sites, accompanied by around 33 photographs of ongoing architectural work.

Loose papers include information on the life and works of Alexander Thompson as well as a draft of the text for the final bound travel notebook.
