This collection consists of educational certificates, weavers note books, an index to sample books, Old Glamis Fabrics stitch books and sample books of Jacquard textiles. These were generated for Donald Brothers Ltd by N & N Lockhart & Sons, flax, hemp and tow spinners, net and twine manufacturers of Kirkcaldy, Scotland, under a friendship agreement.

There are 68 sample books of Jacquard textiles. There are also 5 notebooks giving the patent and colour numbers for each design. There is a final notebook that gives a list of the patent numbers for the designs of the fabrics.

This material is currently uncatalogued and therefore not accessible for researchers. Correspondence and administrative papers relating to the following courses and departments: MA Design, Bachelor Design, Product Design Engineering, Silversmithing and Jewellery, MPhil Design Theory, Visual Communications and First Year Design. Also includes academic plans and CNAA working papers, correspondence with GSA Enterprises, promotional material, student handbook drafts, material relating to Design exhibitions, and the correspondence, administrative papers and working files of Dugald Cameron (Head of Design School 1990) and Michael Healey (Head of Design School 1994/95-1996/97). Committee papers held within this department - Design Board of Studies, Design Course Evaluation Committee, Design Course/Joint Course/Curriculum Committee, Design Course Examination Committee, Design School Research Committee, Design Student/Staff Consultative Committee.

The archive of The Glasgow 1999 Festival Co Ltd contains many of the publications, correspondence, press releases, press cuttings and the working papers that were produced by the company in the run-up to and during the year-long celebration. Papers relating to the evaluation of the project are also included. Items not directly related to the working office of the festival company have also been kept, for instance, examples of the merchandise and associated publicity. A record was also made of many of the events and publicity surrounding the year; video and audio recordings of the lectures and photographs of successful projects and schemes.

Once this Data Protection work is complete the collection will be open for access, however any sensitive information will be closed and inaccessible for 75 years from the date of creation.

This collection comprises predominantly student work undertaken by Dugald Cameron whilst studying at The Glasgow School of Art between 1957-1963.

Designed for the Willow Tea Rooms, Glasgow. There is no provenance for this table. Stylistically it has elements in common with some of the pieces designed for the Willow Tea Rooms; the row of glazed ovals is reminiscent of a similar feature in the fireplace in the Smoking Room. It could have come to the GSA with a number of other pieces of Willow furniture purchased from the Grosvenor Restaurant. (Roger Billcliffe).
This item was assessed for conservation in 2010 as part of the Mackintosh Conservation and Access Project (2006-2010).

A series of facsimile armchairs were commissioned by GSA between 2003 and 2005 to replace the original armchairs (from 1904 and 1906) that remained in situ and in daily use within the Director's Room and Board Room of Glasgow School of Art.

Pair of cufflinks made by jeweller Sheng Zhang while he was an Artist in Residence in the department of Silversmithing and Jewellery at The Glasgow School of Art. Zhang’s commission was an element of the Silversmithing and Jewellery’s partnership with Rolls Royce and Partners Finance. Cufflinks made from decommissioned aviation engine parts. The cufflinks are a limited edition of 39 pieces. The other pieces of the series have been used to support charitable causes.
