Folder containing 85 black and white photographs depicting Glasgow city scenes of various sizes. All taken by George Oliver apart from two dated c1897. Includes images featuring the Barrowlands, the Gorbals (high-rise flats and tennements), St. Enoch Station and Hotel, West End, New Bedford Cinema, Ingram Street, and the Old Fruitmarket.

The contact sheet comprises of photographs of a book containing images of historic Glasgow taken by George Oliver and is dated 1989. The photographs date from c1900, photographer unknown. Folder containing 50 black and white photographs of buildings of various sizes, taken by George Oliver. Some annotated. All buildings featured are in Glasgow except one of a pub in London which dates from 1948. Also contains 2 photocopies of a line drawing by Thomas Williams depicting a busy cityscene beside a river. Photographs include: Templeton's Carpet Factory, Hampden Park, Glasgow Cathedral, St Enoch Station and Bute Hall.

Folder containing 49 black and white photographs of various sizes. All are taken by George Oliver with the exception of one which has been taken by Flora Ritchie, the cousin of George's wife, Cordelia Oliver. This photograph depicts a street scene in Townhead, Glasgow, c1950s. The remaining photographs depict various street scenes in Glasgow from 1948-1980s, most of which have been annotated. The earliest photograph dates from 1948 and depicts traction engines pulling North British Loco. Co. engine along Sauchiehall Street en route for the docks. Other scenes include: the construction of the M8, Gorbals, Queen Street Station and trace horses on West Nile Street c1948.

The Edinburgh material includes: Museum of Childhood, Edinburgh University, New Town and George Street lane sales. Some negatives relate to photographs in the previous folder entitled 'Edinburgh Prints'.
