Collections of Annual School and Course reports. These reports are part of the annual reporting process and were/are sometimes used in the formation of other documents such as Course Reviews and the Report to Senate (see AC/5/1 above). The course reports include information about: a summary of actions taken in response to the report of an External Examiner; the course aims, objectives, and structure; student statistics; resources; staffing; accommodation; equipment; staff development and research; summaries of student views and sometimes a list of resource requirements. The Glasgow School of Art Academic Council was re-constituted in 1991 and a proposal for the creation of formalised Course Reports was accepted at the 103rd meeting of the Academic Council (16 Dec 1991). The Reports were to be presented to the Academic Standards Committee. Responses to External Examiners' Reports were to be included in the Annual Course Reports.
Part of the annual reporting process was the formation of Proposed Academic Plans and these were to be submitted to the Academic Council. These departmental plans informed the School's overall Strategic Plan.
These documents: The Annual Course Reports, External Examiners' Reports, and the Proposed Academic Plans, were also used in the formation of documents such as Course Reviews and the Annual Report to Senate from 1997 onwards. In the session 1996/1997 the School produced joint Academic Plans/Course Reports. However, due to the complexity of the documents, the School reverted to separate Course Reports and Academic Plans the following year.
