There is a mixture of men’s and women’s garments.  Styles and themes of garments include rainbow, futuristic, Oriental, Egyptian, ballgowns, stripes, geometry, hats, formal, off-the-shoulder, utility wear, white, accessories, metallic, fantasy, swimwear. The show also features an extravagant period ballgown, designed by Kenny McLellan, which was subsequently shown at the “Young Blood” exhibition at the Barbican Centre in London, in November 1983 to January 1984. The set for the show consisted of a pale, self-coloured fabric backdrop. The soundtrack for this film was added during the editing phase of the film and contains music which was played at the fashion show. The film comprises images of the fashion show poster, followed by footage of the audience arriving at the venue and students modelling on the stage. There is a mixture of men’s and women’s garments.  Styles and themes of garments include music, pastels, metallic, rainbow, wedding, hats, white, bright colours, jewellery, off-the-shoulder, flamenco. Students involved in the show came from a variety of subject areas and years, including: Embroidery and Weaving; and Printed Textiles. All the textiles students modelling designed garments for the show. The set for the show consisted of large musical notes and staves, plus piano keyboards. It was designed and built by Minty Donald and Jean Cameron. The soundtrack for this film was added during the editing phase of the film and contains music which was played at the fashion show. All the textiles students modelling designed garments for the show. The set for the show consisted of a black background with white symbols. The 1986 Fashion Show was held in the Assembly Hall from 10th to 15th March 1986. The film comprises footage of students modelling on the stage. There is a mixture of men’s and women’s garments.  Styles and themes of garments include Egyptian, metallic, wedding, Queen of Hearts, cloaks, formalwear, masks, hats, bright colours, geometry, flamboyant, utility wear. There is also a dress made from Benson and Hedges cigarette packets – the model wearing this dress is smoking on stage. There were also a number of Harris Tweed garments in the show as Harris Tweed ran a design competition that year. Students involved in the show came from a variety of subject areas and years, including: Embroidery and Weaving; Silversmithing and Jewellery; and Printed Textiles. All the textiles students modelling designed garments for the show. It is believed that this show had a mix of professional models and students. The models were less experienced models from agencies. The set for the show consisted of a garage workshop setting with car and motor parts at the rear and sides of the stage. It was designed by the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. The hair for this show was by Taylor Ferguson. The soundtrack for this film was added during the editing phase of the film and contains music which was played at the fashion show. The 1978 Fashion Show was held in the Mackintosh Lecture Theatre from the 24th to 28th April 1978. The film comprises a combination of still images and film footage of students preparing for the show behind the scenes, and modelling on the stage. There is a mixture of men’s and women’s garments. Styles and themes include metallic fabrics, sportswear, bodysuits and off-the-shoulder dresses. Children’s clothes were also modelled in the show although these are not shown in the film. Garments were designed and modelled mostly by students or former students. Indigo Designs also designed evening dresses for the show. Students involved in the show came from a variety of subject areas and years, including: 1st year; Embroidery and Weaving; Textiles; and Graphics. Hair was by the Hely Design Group and shoes were from Ravel. The set for the show consisted of a pale, self-coloured ruched fabric backdrop. Poster advertising a film screening of an Andrei Torkovsky film 'Mirror' in the Bourdon Lecture Theatre on Wednesday 12th March, 1:30pm.

This poster advertised various events happening during The Glasgow School Of Art's activities week in 1971. The poster details a number of film screenings and talks which took place in the Mackintosh Lecture Theatre. Other events included visits to the National Engineering Laboratory in East Kilbride and to an exhibition of prints by the London based printmaking organisation Editions Alecto. There was also an exhibition of work by John McInnes which was held in the Mackintosh Museum.

This poster advertised a ceilidh that was held in the Haldane Hall on the 19th of February 1972 as part of The Glasgow School Of Art's activities week. Activities week was an annual programme of talks, film screenings and social events that ran from 1971 to 1985. Playing at the ceilidh were a number of notable Scottish folk musicians including Cliff Hanley, Billy Connolly, Robin Hall, Jimmy McGregor and Charlie Williamson. An image of this poster can be found in the 1973 Glasgow School Of Art prospectus on page 21.

This poster advertised a Christmas dance arranged by the drawing and painting department, the title of which was "Meet the Mob". Tickets were priced at £3.50 and the evening included a big band and a buffet.

This poster advertised a performance of medieval music in the Mackintosh Lecture Theatre. According to Jimmy Cosgrove, the previous deputy director of The Glasgow School Of Art, the poster features images of a textiles student's work from this period.

This poster advertised a concert of medieval music which was held in the Mackintosh Lecture Theatre on Thursday the 22nd of February 1973 featuring Neil Morrison on lute and guitar. Morrison taught at The Glasgow School Of Art from 1970 to 1972 and made his own instruments. He played a number of concerts around Glasgow at this time, including one at The Third Eye Centre in April 1987.

This poster advertised a debate which dealt with the positive and negative aspects of studying at The Glasgow School Of Art which was held in the Mackintosh Lecture Theatre on the 8th of December 1976. Speaking for the school in the debate included Roger Hoare, Mike Roschlau, Tom Lyden and Vladimir Soukoup. Speaking against were Dugald Cameron, Julian Gibb, Colin McNaught and Jim Cathcart. Harry J. Barnes was the chairperson. The poster states: "The Motion: This house believes that this art school creates no prospects, no jobs, no firm conclusions, no hopes, few aspirations, little money, nothing but nostalgia..." The poster was printed by Bob Stewart who was a senior lecturer in design at The Glasgow School Of Art at this time.

This poster advertised a farewell dinner held for the retirement of Kath Whyte. Whyte taught in The Glasgow School of Art's textile department from 1949 to 1974 and was highly regarded for her work in embroidery and weave.The event took place in the Newbery Tower on the 12th of June 1974. The poster was designed and printed by Robert Stewart who produced a number of the posters in The Glasgow School Of Art's poster collection. Stewart was acting Head Of Design in 1974.

This poster advertised a retirement dinner for Lennox Paterson. Paterson worked at The Glasgow School Of Art between 1964 and 1979, occupying various roles including Head of Design and Deputy Head of the school. He was highly regarded for his wood engravings of animals and the poster features elements of this style. The event was held in the Bourdon Hall at The Glasgow School Of Art on the 20th of December 1979. The poster was designed and printed by Bob Stewart who was a senior lecturer in printed textiles at this time.

This poster advertised The Glasgow School Of Art's 1974 fashion show which was held in the Mackintosh Building between the 18th and the 22nd of March.

This poster advertised screenings of the films 'Midnight Cowboy' and 'The Connection' which took place in the Mackintosh Lecture Theatre within The Glasgow School Of Art from the 12th of April to the 4th May 1990. Tickets for the event were priced at 30p per screening or £1 for five screenings.

Also showing that night was Kevin Brownlow and Andrew Mollo's 1934 film 'It Happened Here'. The reverse of the poster is annotated with "Colin Carruthers Graphics '79".
