Hugh McD Dickson, born 24/10/1894, attended evening classes in Drawing and Painting at The Glasgow School of Art initially between the years of 1918-20, and later from 1926-27. He also attended evening classes from 1927-28, although we have no record of which particular subject he was studying during this session. He is registered as residing in Stirling Road, Glasgow, throughout, and his occupation is listed as 'Storeman'.

Ancestry.co.uk list a 'Hugh McDonagh Dickson' whose birthday corresponds with 'Hugh Mc D Dickson' of The Glasgow School of Art. Hugh McDonagh Dickson was born in Parsons Street, Glasgow, to Samuel Dickson (Gasfitter) and Annie Dickson (nee McDonagh). The 1901 census shows that 6 year old 'Hugh Dickson' lived in Glebe Street with his parents Annie and Samuel, and seven other children - presumably siblings. He died in 1974 in Martha Street, Glasgow.
