History
Maurice Dewolf (or De Wolf), a Belgian refugee, attended The Glasgow School of Art for the 1914-15 session. He was a day student in Drawing and Painting and is listed as residing in Blackhill House, Riddrie, for this period. Dewolf appears on the register of Belgian refugees held by the Mitchell Library, Glasgow. On this register (where he appears as 'De Wolf' rather than Dewolf) he is noted as being 18 years of age, an art student, single, and being from Ghent. We do not hold a date of birth for Dewolf, however we can assume that the entry in the register from the Mitchell Library dates from approximately 1914 –by which time we know Dewolf was already in Glasgow.
