History

Isabella (Isa) Clelland was born on 13 October, 1900. She enrolled as a day student studying Drawing and Painting in 1918, attending the School of Art for the next six years, though switching to the Design Department from 1921. Throughout her studies, her address remained 152 Hill Street, Garnethill, very near the Art School. The 1922 school Prospectus records that she was a recipient of a Minor Travelling Bursary, Design and Decorative Art, awarded in the previous year. She was obviously actively involved in the social life of the school, and was on the committee of both the School Drama Club and School of Art Club during her last year as a student.
